Our Expertise
Why We’re Running

Restoring Fiscal Responsibility
The current Trustees – Decker, Fronczak, and Medendorp – have mismanaged Township funds, wasting $140,000 on unnecessary lawyer fees. This includes $34,000 in personal attorney fees they are now trying to pass on to taxpayers. We’ve spent $20,000 fighting this in court, and we’re optimistic about protecting your money and recovering legal costs.

Supporting Those in Need
Algonquin Township’s primary duty is to provide General Assistance to residents in financial hardship. This includes helping with:
- Rent
- Utilities
- Food
- Car repairs
Unfortunately, the current board has cut funding for General Assistance by nearly 50%, transferring $76,000 to a General Fund where it’s not needed. In these challenging times, this decision is unacceptable. Our team is committed to restoring these critical funds to ensure we can support individuals and families in need.

Delivering Cost-Saving Solutions
One of our greatest successes was implementing a single garbage waste hauler for unincorporated Algonquin Township. After securing an overwhelming referendum vote, we put the service out to bid, achieving:
- Less traffic on Township roads
- Reduced wear and tear on infrastructure
- Improved air quality
- $700,000 in savings for residents – more than most pay in Township taxes!
This is just one example of how common-sense solutions can lead to big wins for our community.

Our Focus is Delivering Excellence for You.
**Phony Censure Motions**
If you know you’re running for re-election, and you have nothing positive to say about your current tenure- you make up stuff. Trustees Decker, Medendorp, and Fronczak censored me numerous times over the past current term. Their censures lacked credibility, were mostly lies and half-truths, and cost the taxpayer $8,900 in legal fees. They have no legal effect- why spend money on lawyers.
They wasted tax money for political purposes! My opponent obviously agrees with this tactic. He has not promoted anything positive for Algonquin Township and instead has promoted lies and misleading information.
Funny also-these trustees voted for a pay raise for themselves too! They cut the supervisors pay by $25,000 in the process. Makes you think they do not like me and don’t respect the supervisor’s position.
**My Opponent's Character**
The candidate for Algonquin Supervisor Richard Tado and their candidates for trustees Decker and Fronczak, also including Medendorp-the clerk candidate have demonstrated their character.
First, as mentioned here, they deliberately made-up phony censures and have them passed with their 3 person majority. Easy to do when you collaborate with each other. The censures are lies and misleading.
Tado has referred to me as a criminal. It is apparent he is taking the lead from his trustee candidates, who are producing these falsehoods.
Now comes Tado in a Facebook post calling my office manager unqualified and accusing us of sleeping together. This demonstrates their lack of character and shows desperation.

This Post is Outrageous!
Richard Tado liked this post. Probably helped this non-resident write it too. Obviously not a person of very good character.
As Supervisor, I will continue to PROVIDE:
A Vision for the Future
Prioritize General Assistance
To help those facing financial hardship.
Promote Transparency
And accountability in Township spending.
Work collaboratively
With other social service organizations to maximize resources.
Fight For Taxpayers
To ensure your hard-earned money is used wisely.

Vote Randy Funk and Team on Election Day!
Together, we can make a difference.

Randy Funk
Current Algonquin Township Supervisor. Despite having to work with an unprofessional and uncooperative board of Trustees, I managed to keep taxes level and spending reasonable. I successfully installed a garbage removal program that saves on wear and tear of the roads, limits the pollution, and saves the unincorporated resident significant money.
Insurance agent/Small Business owner of 35 years. Specializing in individuals and small businesses.
President of the Crystal Lake Union Cemetery Association. Volunteer position that manages Crystal Lake’s 2 cemeteries.
Past President of the Crystal Lake Lions Club and current president of Lions of Crystal Lake Lions Foundation. We raise funds and distribute to those in our community who are less fortunate. This is also the main purpose of Algonquin Township. Recipient of the International Lions Club Melvin Jones Award-its highest honor for those who serve their community.

Rich Yelle
I have resided in Algonquin Township for the majority of the 50 plus years I’ve lived in McHenry County. I attended District 47 grade schools and graduated from District 155 high schools in Crystal Lake. All six of my children attended District 47 grade schools and graduated from District 155 high schools in Crystal Lake as well.
I have run businesses since 1994 that provide direct hire staffing and contract adjusters for the insurance industry.
I coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball in Crystal Lake from 1996 to 2014. I also coached Challenger Little League (A baseball program for special needs kids) in Woodstock from 2011 to 2022.
I have been a volunteer for the Lion’s Club for over 20 years. I officially became a member in 2022. I know what it takes to run a small business and I understand the importance of helping folks in our community who are in dire need.

Kevin Byrnes
Veteran-Small Business Owner/Smash’D Burgers.
US Marine Corps Veteran. 9 years of service. Deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and The Balkans. The chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff recognized me for my leadership and service.
Local Law Enforcement officer for 8 years.
Current Secretary of the Crystal Lake Lions Club. We do fundraising and also assist people in our community that are in financial need.
Current Algonquin Township Republican Precinct Committeeman.
I am dedicated to helping others in need and doing so in a sound fiscal manner. Running the Township is like running a small business. I know how it has to be done.

Tony Colatorti
Algonquin Illinois resident. Married father of 3 children. I am a business owner for over 30 years, operating 2 restaurants in downtown Algonquin. Police Chief for 7 years in Prairie Grove IL.
Charity and community service is in my blood-current member of Crystal Lake Lions Club. President of the Downtown Algonquin Association.
I am a big advocate of lower taxes and government transparency. I understand how a small business operates. Spending money on lawyers in a wasteful manner needs to stop.
Proper funding of General assistance needs to be reinstated.

Maureen Huff
As a resident of Lake in the Hills and the Algonquin Township for the last 28 years I have taken great pride in my community. I am the current Algonquin Township Clerk. My husband, Phil, and I raised our two children here. Both of our children are grown and have moved with families of their own. I’m grateful for the community that we were fortunate enough to raise them in. I’m committed to ensuring today’s families experience the same community warmth.
I promise to never vote to increase the tax burden, ever. Our community deserves an efficient Board that understands the significance of the services that the township offers to all residents while prioritizing fiscal responsibility. We need a Board that ensures township funds are used wisely to provide essential services without unnecessary expenditure and that is transparent with budgeting.
I pledge to serve with integrity, focusing on the core services our township provides while voting fiscally responsibly. I want to continue making Algonquin Township a great community where every resident, from families to seniors, feels cared for and important, all without increasing the tax burden. I would be honored to have your vote this February.

Debbie Rinn-Alcock
I am a resident of Lorel Estates in unincorporated Algonquin Township. Lifetime resident of the Crystal Lake area.
Mother of 2 daughters. I have owned and operated a Travel agency for the past 33 years. I know what it takes to run a small business. I am an active member of my church, mostly volunteering my time helping others who are in need.
Long time member of the Wauconda Lions Club. I will bring a small business/conservative business attitude to Algonquin Township. Through my volunteerism, I know how to help individuals in need. This is the main function of Algonquin Township.
